Course Description

SOCI 2153 - Social Inequality

Major theoretical explanations and empirical evidence will be used to explore why there are those who "have" and those who "have-not," in terms of income, wealth, power, and status. Topics may include: the magnitude of social inequality, trends in social mobility; inequality by gender, race, and other ascribed characteristics; selected consequences of social inequality.

Prerequisite(s): 6h of 1000 level SOCI courses.
