CHEMISTRY 0110 - Preuniversity Chemistry
This course will help you learn the main topics, concepts and skills from high school chemistry, based on the Nova Scotia high school chemistry curriculum (Chemistry 11 and Chemistry 12). This course is designed for students who have never taken chemistry in high school or who would like to refresh their high school chemistry knowledge before taking first-year introductory chemistry at the university level. This course is accepted by Acadia University as the prerequisite for first-year chemistry courses.

CHEMISTRY 1033 - Intro to Chemistry 1
Basic concepts in chemistry, including stoichiometry, periodic trends and bonding. This course is offered through Open Acadia. The laboratory work consists of video- and computer-based assignments. This course may only be used as a prerequisite for admission to other chemistry courses with the permission of the department.

CHEMISTRY 2513 - Organic Chemistry 1
An introduction to organic chemistry covering structure, nomenclature and reactions of the main classes of organic compounds. (3h lab) IMPORTANT NOTE: Students must have successfully completed the lab or be prepared to make their own arrangements to take it here at Acadia or at another university. A lab session is not offered through Open Acadia. Confirmation of successful lab completion must be forwarded to Open Acadia.
