Course Description

HIST 1003 - The Practicing Historian

This course will use case studies and hands-on learning to introduce students to the variety of sources and approaches used by today's practicing historians. Oral history, public history, visual and material culture will all be included, along with an examination of a variety of more traditional ways that quantitative and qualitative data may be analyzed, interpreted, and disseminated by historians.

Prerequisite(s): History major or permission of the Department.
